Suo Moto Disclosure in respect of Social Welfare.

1. As per section 4(1)b(i) of the RTI Act, 2005

Functions of Social Welfare

The endeavour of Social Welfare is to work for the welfare and development in the State and to strive for the upliftment of the disabled, senior citizens, widows and the weaker section of the society. It also manages correctional institutions and social defense, as well as strengthening voluntary organizations.

2. As per Section 4(1)(b)(ii) of the RTI Act, 2005

3. As per Section 4(1)(b)(iii) of the RTI Act, 2005

All important decisions are taken with prior consent of the Director, Social Welfare.

4. As per Section 4(1)(b)(iv) of the RTI Act, 2005

All decisions in Directorate of Social Welfare are made through collective endeavors via step-by-step movement of files.

5. Section 4(1)(b)(v) of the RTI Act, 2005

All employees in the discharge of their functions adhere to all Rules, Regulations, Established practice, instructions etc. as adopted by the Government of Mizoram from time to time.

6. Section 4(1)(b)(vi) of the RTI Act, 2005

The main procedure of processing each case is done through files opened for this purpose. Therefore, documents that are held by the Directorate include relevant files on subjects dealt within the Department and service documents of its officials.

7. Section 4(1)(b)(vii) of the RTI Act, 2005

Social Welfare works with NGOs such as MUP and those working on our specific thematic areas that is substance abuse disability etc. as well as Coordination Committees at various levels for effective implementations of schemes and policies.

8. Section 4(1)(b)(viii) of the RTI Act, 2005

There is Mizoram Social Defence & Rehabilitation Board under the Directorate of Social Welfare.
