MIZORAM SOCIAL DEFENCE & REHABILITATION BOARD


To combat against the growing menace of drug addiction among the youths of the time, Mizoram Social Defence & Rehabilitation Board was established under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Minister on 17/4/99, with a starter of Rs.1 crore provision.

Main functions:-

i) To take measures for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts and alcoholic,

ii) To establish essential Institutions and Centres for the purpose of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts and alcoholic.

iii) To identify, mobilise and assist non-governmental organisation to undertake and rehabilitate drug addicts and alcoholics.

(iv) To monitor, coordinate and evaluate the progress and activities of NGOs working in the above field.

v) To conduct and undertake research and training in the related subjects and fields to fulfill the objectives of the Society.
